The Cartography & Visualization section of this portfolio make use of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data obtained from Mammoth Cave National Park (MACA) via North Carolina State University. The data was initially funded by the Joint Fire Science Project. Initial data processing was done by Dr. Nicholas Skowronski. Subsequent processing including surface interpolation, geomorphometrics and fly through visualization are presented here.
MACA is located in central Kentucky (Map 1). The geology of the park is mostly classified as karstic. Due to the karstic nature, MACA provides an exciting area for geomorphometry.
